WATERSPIRIT Participated in a Live Webinar presenting "From the Faith Perspective"

Watch the Webinar that WATERSPIRIT participated in on August 22cnd to present the “Faith Perspective” on why the way we harness our energy is a social justice issue. Learn more about the issues and how you can help.

Former Governor Chris Christie vetoed bills to ban fracking & its waste in the Garden State. New Jersey's incoming Governor Phil Murphy has committed to ban fracking in New Jersey. New Jerseyans want a permanent, statewide fracking & fracking waste ban in New Jersey, and are urging New Jersey state legislators to co-sponsor and pass legislation to ban the treatment, storage and disposal of fracking waste in New Jersey for the Governor to sign this year (A1329).

Join us for the webinar to learn about fracking's presence in New Jersey: through the proliferation of pipelines & power plants, refining and transporting fracking waste. And what you and your neighbors can do to transition New Jersey away from fossil fuels and onto 100% renewable energy. (Audio & program begins at minute 4:45).

We have moved!

WATERSPIRIT has moved to 4 East River Road, Rumson.  We are enjoying and settling in to our new offices and space.  We are extremely grateful to the people at Rumson Presybyterian Church, our volunteers, and everyone else who has crossed our paths in the planning, helping and assisting in the move from Stella Maris.  We especially would like to thank Tom Burke (current caretaker of Stella Maris), who has continually helped us through this transition and the past two years at Stella Maris, and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace.

This transition is breathing new life into our mission, as we review the past twenty years and plan for the future.  Stay tuned as we catch our breath and move forward.

Currently, you can see that we are continuing the "Meditations for Earth" and the "Drumming for Water is Life" on Tuesdays.   "Winter Solstice" will be held on Thursday, December 21st at 7:00pm in the Sanctuary at Rumson Presbyterian Church.  We are excited to have the Core of Fire dancers with us for the "Winter Solstice" celebration and ritual.

Book Club is still meeting, we are currently reading "Braiding Sweetgrass" by Robin Wall Kimmerer.  We are meeting on November 16th at 6:00pm in Neptune. We will be discussing up to page 201 (which is half of the book).    Contact us if you are interested in joining us!

Thank you for your continued support and advocacy for water and Creation!
