Protect the Delaware River Basin from Fracking (again) Before Monday 7/13/2026!

Your sacred act of prayer is powerful and can make a real difference toward water protection and a just and stable future for all generations.

This is an urgent request and plea for every person in the Waterspirit community to reach out and urge that your congressional representative NOT allow a fracking ban to be lifted in the Delaware River Basin; tell them to vote NO to amending the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA).

The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) was created to help water management across relatd states (NY, NJ, DE, PA) with the federal government. We learned this week that PA representative Scott Perry has proposed an amendment to a Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) currently advancing through congress. The Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) was meant to advance projects and studies carried out by the Army Corps of Engineers. This amendment would strip the power of the DRBC to enforce the fracking ban that protects the sacred Delaware River from the permanent toxic pollution fracking operations produce.

Should the amendment pass through the House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure, it would bypass the need for a full vote by all the members of the House of Representatives and become a law once adopted by the Senate. The attempt at this amendment to the WRDA would strip the legal authority necesssary to ensure these protections.

JOIN US IN TAKING ACTION:

Please call 3 representatives who represent residents in our watershed who drink Delaware River water (in NY and NJ) and urge them to vote NO on allowing this to advance for the sake of water, all sacred Earth and current and future generations of young people:
