BIG NEWS: Thanks to the outpouring of last minute calls and emails, “Skip the Stuff”(S3195/A5157), advanced to the NJ Assembly agenda and was voted out of the Assembly Appropriations committee!
Momentum only grows for this campaign to require restaurants and food-service businesses to provide single-use utensils, condiments, napkins, and other items only when requested by customers. This approach reduces waste, saves businesses money and helps protect our waterways.
This critical vote almost did not take place and your efforts at the last hour were paramount to this outcome. It is a team effort working to eliminate unnecessary single-use waste and we are proud to be part of the coalition of NJ residents working to advance this initiative into law.
Pat yourselves on the back! We will continue to keep you apprised of opportunities to help educate lawmakers as to which bills are helpful and those that are not conducive toward the everlasting responsibility we have to protect sacred water.
