Generating Justice: Genocide, Ecocide, and Gender Justice

Please join us for this co-sponsored webinar on occasion of the seventieth session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women.

Women face disproportionate impacts from extractive industries that engage in an array of human rights abuses that can rise to the level of international crimes, including genocide and ecocide. Corporations, working alongside and on behalf of States, often operate with impunity, leaving individuals and communities without redress. Accessing justice requires creating and upholding systems that support the intertwined issues of peacebuilding and environmental protection while ensuring effective, adequate, and timely remedy for victims. In this virtual parallel event, speakers will highlight cases in the United States, Palestine, West Papua, and Myanmar, and actions taken towards justice and accountability.
