Free Film Screening with NJ Poor People's Campaign

  • The Reformed Church of Highland Park 19 South 2nd Avenue Highland Park, NJ, 08904 United States (map)

Waterspirit has grown involved in supporting the current New Jersey Poor People's Campaign over the past 3 years. As we enter into 2024, conditions of inequality have grown perpetually worse, according to Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed, ALICE figures and recent state fact sheets sourced by the Poor People's Campaign. The PPC addresses systemic injustices that perpetuate water scarcity, contamination, and unaffordability in poor, low-income communities of color. Waterspirit hopes a focus on water justice will uplift voices of marginalized communities to advocate for their right to access a fundamental resource necessary for human dignity and well-being.

Gather together with us at the Reformed Church of Highland Park and view the film “On the Case” the 1968 footage of the initial Poor People’s Campaign. We will bring together history and the present struggles in New Jersey and across the land. The New Jersey Poor People’s Campaign Coordinating Committee members are glad to invite you to support the NJ Poor People’s Campaign starting with the multi-state mass assemblies taking place March 2nd.
