Off Fossil Fuels Act
The Off Fossil Fuels for a Better Future Act (HR 3671, Gabbard, HI-02), is the most aggressive piece of climate legislation ever introduced in Congress. Also known as the OFF Act, the bill would place a moratorium on new fossil fuel projects and moves our electricity and most transportation systems to 100% renewable energy by 2035. It would also provide for a truly just transition for environmental justice communities and those working in the fossil fuel industry.
Winning the fight to move off fossil fuels will not be easy. But if we are to protect people and the planet and avoid the very worst of climate change, we have no choice but to fight. The Off Fossil Fuels for a Better Future Act is a critical first step in what must be a major national mobilization to rebuild our energy system now.
Read more about this historic bill here and why it is so important to build support for it now.
The OFF Act is supported by the Climate Justice Alliance, Indigenous Environmental Network, National Nurses United, Progressive Democrats of America, and many other organizations.
We need people in every district across the country pushing their members of Congress to support the bill.
