West of Philadelphia, Public Transportation
From the NORTH
Take the NJ Turnpike to Exit 11 to Garden State Parkway South (or just take the Parkway South) to Exit 105 - Route 36.
When you get off the parkway, go straight and you're on Route 36.
Stay on Route 36 past the Monmouth Mall (on your right) and past the intersection of Route 35.
At the second traffic light after Route 35, go Right onto Route 71 South.
Stay on Route 71 as it weaves around past a McDonald's (at this point Route 71 becomes Cedar Ave.) and goes past Monmouth University.
Once you're at the end of Monmouth U. (there is a traffic light here) Route 71 turns right...
DO NOT turn right, stay on Cedar Ave. to the end of the road.
When you come to the end of Cedar Ave., make a RIGHT onto Ocean Ave.
You will pass San Alfonso Retreat House on your left, and a Red Church (St. Michael’s) on the right, and then go over a small bridge.
Shortly thereafter, you will see a Blue sign (on your left) that says: Stella Maris Retreat Center, 981 Ocean Ave.
From the SOUTH
Take the Garden State Parkway North to Exit 105 - Route 36.
When you get off the parkway, go straight and you're on Route 36.
Stay on Route 36 past the Monmouth Mall (on your right) and past the intersection of Route 35.
At the second traffic light after Route 35, go Right onto Route 71 South.
Stay on Route 71 as it weaves around past a McDonald's (at this point Route 71 becomes Cedar Ave.) and goes past Monmouth University.
Once you're at the end of Monmouth U. (there is a traffic light here) Route 71 turns right...
DO NOT turn right, stay on Cedar Ave. to the end of the road.
When you come to the end of Cedar Ave., make a RIGHT onto Ocean Ave.

Take I-195 East to Garden State Parkway North to Exit 105 - Route 36.
When you get off the parkway, go straight and you're on Route 36.
Stay on Route 36 past the Monmouth Mall (on your right) and past the intersection of Route 35.
At the second traffic light after Route 35, go Right onto Route 71 South.

If coming from Route 80:
Stay on Route 80 East to Route 31 South to Route 78 East to Route 287 South to the Garden State Parkway South.
Take the Parkway to to Exit 105 - Route 36.
When you get off the parkway, go straight and you're on Route 36.
Stay on Route 36 past the Monmouth Mall (on your right) and past the intersection of Route 35.

PENNSLYVANIA TURNPIKE/ ROUTE 76
If coming from Pennsylvania Turnpike/Route 76:
Take the PA Turnpike to the end onto the NJ Turnpike.
Take NJ Turnpike North to Exit 7A/Route I-195 East (Shore Points).
Take I-195 East to Garden State Parkway North.
Take the Parkway to to Exit 105 - Route 36.
When you get off the parkway, go straight and you're on Route 36.
Stay on Route 36 past the Monmouth Mall (on your right) and past the intersection of Route 35.

VIA PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Bus service from the Port Authority in New York City:
Take the Academy Bus (Asbury Park – Point Pleasant Line) to West End. Ask the driver to stop in front of Stella Maris, 981 Ocean Ave. in Elberon.
NJ Transit train service to Long Branch is also available. There are taxis available at this station.
